# Kubernetes

Kubernetes (K8s) is a platform for managing containerized applications.

Instead of running everything manually on individual servers, Kubernetes can manage these containers for you.

It can:

* start containers
* stop containers
* restart failed containers
* distribute containers across machines
* scale applications up/down
* provide networking between containers
* perform health checks
* deploy new versions
* roll back deployments
