# Vericifation / Validation

**Verification** = Are we building the product right?

**Validation** = Are we building the right product?

**Verification** is about checking whether we are building the product correctly according to specifications and requirements. It includes activities such as reviews, inspections and walkthroughs.

**Validation** is about checking whether we are building the right product and whether the actual software satisfies the user's needs. It involves executing the software through activities such as functional, integration, system and acceptance testing.
